On 8th day of Commonwealth Games Indian wrestlers added six medal in the medal tally. India’s star wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Deepak Punia bagged gold. Anshu Malik won silver in her first commonwealth games. Divya kakran and Mohit Grewal bagged bronze in the CWG.
With her mind blowing performance, India’s Sakshi Malik secured gold after defeating her Canadian opponent Ana Godinez in the women’s 62kg wrestling finale.
Bajrang Punia won gold by winning against Canadian wrestler Lachlan McNeil in the men’s 65kg category.
In the men’s 86kg freestyle category of wrestling, Deepak Punia bagged another gold after conquering over his Pakistan opponent Muhammad Inam.
Deepak victory added third gold in the medal tally on day 8.
Anshu Malik received first India’s medal on Friday in freestyle 57kg by defeating Sri Lanka’s Nethi Poruthotage.
Divya Kakran win the bronze medal by defeating Tiger Lily Cocker of Tonga in 68kg Women’s Freestyle Wrestling.
In 125kg Men’s Freestyle Mohit Grewal secured bronze by defeating Aaron Johnson in the match by 5-0.
