Ingredients required
- Gram flour – 120 grams
- Ghee – Half cup
- Sugar – One cup.
Method of preparation
First take gram flour and fry it well on low flame. Fry it until golden after that transfer it to a plate and let it cool. Care should be taken to strain it later into a bowl of the same width. After that half cup of ghee should be melted and added to the gram flour that we have sifted in two parts. It should be well melted before adding. After that mix well and then add little more ghee. The remaining ghee should be kept aside.
Take a baking tray and grease it with ghee. Then place parchment paper on top of it and add some more ghee. Set it aside, after that we can prepare some sugar syrup. Put sugar in a medium thick pan and add enough water to it and turn it into syrup. When you touch it with your finger, a drop of sugar syrup should stick and the thread should be on the surface. To this we add the mixed peanut flour and mix well until it forms a paste. This mixture should be cooked on low flame for two minutes and then stir continuously.
Stir till all the added ghee is mixed in it and then add little ghee and mix well. As the last step the Mysore Pak thickens up nicely and looks like bubbles. Then lastly add two more tablespoons of ghee and keep stirring without holding it at the bottom. Be careful to switch off the fire afterwards and then remove it from the stove. Then transfer it to the greased pan and It can be left to cool for up to 10 minutes. Then cool it down and cut it into rectangle pieces. It should be stored in an airtight container.
