Methods to treat your voice

Mouth exercises, yoga and meditations that you can try to treat your voice .

Warming exercise for video production

1. Open and close your mouth slowly for 6 times. This will help to reduce tension in the chin muscles.
2. Extend your tongue out and take it back slowly for 6 times.
3. Just inside of your lower teeth place the tip of your tongue and open and close your mouth slowly 6 times.
4. By closing your mouth rotate your tongue clockwise and anti clock wise.
5. For 6 times do artificial yawning.
6. By pushing your abdominal muscles inwards and make ‘shick’ sound for 2 times. Then add vowel sound with ‘shick’ sound.
7. Inhale through nose and while exhaling vibrate lips without opening your mouth for 4 minutes.
8. Create sound by touching upper palate with tip of tongue for 3 minutes.

Pranayama ( Nadisodhana )

Close the right nostril with your thumb and inhale for 6 seconds through the left nostril. Then close both holes for 6 seconds. Then exhale through your right nostrils for the 12 seconds. Inhale through the same hole again for the 6 seconds. Close both holes. Then exhale through left ventricle for the 12 seconds and leave. Alternate this and continue doing for about 15 minutes. God given for human beings to restore sound health and general health of the body, pranayama is the most divine medicine given. It is best to do it on an empty stomach in the early morning. 10 minutes after pranayama rest is required that’s must.

Straw Phonation Exercises Or SOVT

This is a vocal exercise done with a narrow vocal tract. It is a best exercise because they will create secondary resistance in vocal tract. That takes away about half in the pressure. It is healthier and less pressurized way. These exercises are used in both the area of speech pathology, voice coaching and vocal pedagogy. While doing SOVT exercise make sure that no air is escaping through our nose and also around the lips. Straw phonation will increase circulation to the vocal cord and providing them a good stretch.
