Our nature
What is Nature? Normally when we interact with other people, we get a common answer. Most people believe that nature is what surrounds us the trees, plants, soil, regardless of whether it is animate or not. If we were to analyze this from a scientific perspective, we would be in agreement with this notion. Science profess that every particle which has an existence is in turn manifested only due to the conglomeration of atoms. These atoms, the so called building blocks are still deeper, the conglomeration of finer subatomic particles such as quarks, leptons and the like. If we were to journey much deeper inside, the subatomic particles prove to be particles no more, but the interaction of pure energy. Thus the universe itself can be considered as the canvas of nature. Are we, human beings a significant part of this magnificent portrait? if so how connected are we?
From the biological perspective, Human beings have scaled the peak point in the food chain. The plants, the simplest of the living entities, form the bottom step in this epic food chain. All the other living organisms occupy the in between states of existence. Even now humans enjoy the privilege of being the most intelligent species on the planet! The food chain system predicts that whatever act we do, has a direct influence on all the other entities. Thus everything in nature has a solid link with each and every one of us.
Then again the real question remains veiled. What is the essence of nature? Is it the embodiment of that divine intelligence which we call God?
To derive fulfilling answers to these questions, we only have to observe the events happening around. I am sure that most of us have felt the refreshment a rain brings on a hot summer day. Instantly we feel as if we are more alive and rejuvenated. But has any one of us ever wondered, why? My observation is that the rain carries with it its own special vibrations which are transferred to us during the event. If we were to scrutinize the processes in nature, we would be amazed by the fact that every process is somehow interconnected. The biological events happening inside our own bodies are a testament to this fact.
Each and every cell, although part of the whole, has a separate identity and structure. Even with today’s cutting edge science, scientists still can’t replicate the complex chemical reactions exploited by a human cell. Another wondrous fact is that even with a separate identity, each cell communicates with all the neighboring cells to maintain the regular rhythm of life. Without this intricate communication system, everything is bound to go haywire.
Our ancestors considered nature as ‘Mother. What is special about one’s mother? She is the provider of life and sustenance. Keeping that view in mind, nature provides us with all the necessities of life. Everything is free!!! We only have to search for it. That is my personal view. The divine connection with nature can be felt whenever we close our eyes and observe our deeper self. It is because we never shared a separate existence With nature. ln the grand scheme of things, we ourselves are a part of that all-pervading energy and universal consciousness.
Change is the only constant. From time to time, everything transforms. When the time for change arrives, a caterpillar envelops itself inside a cocoon and emerges out as a beautiful butterfly. Just like a caterpillar, nature itself is in a constant state of change. This change ensures evolution as a whole. Consciousness evolves to provide a better future for all. To tap into this universal Consciousness, we simply have to close our eyes and feel its presence. It is a soothing experience beyond comparison. Everyone should try this experiment. Whenever we feel frustrated by the events in our lives, we can always travel to that soothing place in our hearts which in essence is the nature that surrounds us. For that we simply have to do one thing “CLOSE OUR EYES AND OBSERVE.” Experiment and our own experiences will guide us.
